The Malian transitional authority has responded to recent calls by political and civil society organizations for a return to constitutional rule.

The return which can only be achieved through elections is not on the government’s agenda said the Prime Minister.

This statement has caused an uproar in recent days.

Choguel Kokalla Maiga who gave his views on this issue, explained that the duration of the transition is set under the recommendations of the National Refoundation Conference.

According to the head of the transitional government,  “the agreement reached with ECOWAS is null and void”
