The Malian government has imposed a month-long curfew in  Kidal following the army’s takeover.

Government services are set to return to the former stronghold of armed independence groups, and the national police force is scheduled to be deployed in the northern region next week.

However, The Armed Forces Chief of Staff visited Kidal to commend the army.
