Tensions between the Malian Armed Forces and fighters of the Coordination of Azawad Movements have escalated resulting in a clash on Sunday.

The Army wrote on X (formerly Twitter) that an attack had taken place and a response was underway. The Tuareg group, CMA, confirmed the attack, stating it seized and took control of two army bases in the central town of Lere.
