Women and violent extremism was the theme of a sub-regional conference held in Mali’s capital on Tuesday.

Initiated by WILDAF Mali with funding from the US embassy in Bamako, the meeting was attended by several women from Burkina Faso and Niger.

The aim was to get women more involved in the fight against violent extremism in the Sahel.
