Mali’s Transitional government early this week communicated the provisional timetable for the upcoming elections. 

This provides for the holding of the referendum in the second quarter of 2021. 

The presidential and legislative elections are scheduled for the first quarter of 2022. 

This announcement was preceded by the creation of the Support Unit for the electoral process of the transition. 

But as Adolphus Mawolo reports, civil society is calling for a unique structure for the organization of elections in Mali.
