In Mali, consumers are bearing the brunt of the national union of banks, insurance, and financial institutions strike.
The union says it is taking a tougher stance as the industrial action continues unabated. SYNABEF is demanding the immediate release of its secretary general, Hamadoun Bah, who was jailed last week for forgery and the use of forged documents.
In a statement, the Consumer Association of Mali denounced what it calls a violation of consumers’ basic rights. It plans to file a complaint against this union.
