Ghana’s President John Mahama has given Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo ten days to respond to three petitions seeking her removal.

The directive follows consultations with the Council of State and concerns over a leaked letter from the Chief Justice circulating before the President’s review.

Her response will guide further deliberations under Article 146(6) of the 1992 Constitution.
