Street celebrations by supporters of the two major presidential candidates in the November 14 rerun continue despite calls for them to refrain from doing so.

However, by late Thursday, loyalists of the opposition candidate Joseph Boakai welcomed his victory even before the final pronouncement of results.

The second batch of results from Liberia’s presidential runoff elections as announced by the National Elections Commission swung for Boakai ahead of incumbent President George Weah.

Here is the Chairperson of the Commission Davidetta Brown Lansana announcing the progressive tallied results from 86.71 percent of the 5,890 polling centres across the country, on Thursday.
