Liberia’s Foreign Minister, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, recently met with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Abdulrahman Al-Thani and other senior officials in Doha to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and exploring investment opportunities.
During their consultations, the Prime Minister, who also serves as Qatar’s Foreign Minister, and Minister Beysolow Nyanti focused on strengthening ties between the two nations.
Nyanti highlighted that Liberia has not yet received direct aid from Qatar and stressed the importance of advancing initiatives such as an air service agreement with Qatar Airways and inviting the Qatar Fund for Development to support local projects in Liberia.
She also urged Qatari officials to consider investing in Liberia, particularly in sectors like manufacturing, aviation, forestry, and road development.
Nyanti is visiting Qatar at the invitation of Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, the Queen Mother of the Emir, to deliver a keynote speech on “Education in Peril: The Human Cost of War.”
