Liberian President George Weah has acknowledged the danger fishermen continue to endure in the country, describing the fishing trade as risky.

Government statistics from the country’s Fisheries and Aquaculture Authority indicate that between 2019-2022, about 606 sea-related accidents occurred in national waters.

WADR’s Darlington Porkpa in this report says, 209 people of this figure, died due to drowning.
