Over 20 staffers of Liberia’s National Election Commission have reportedly been dismissed following a sit-in protest demanding insurance and benefits for the 2023 General Elections.

The protest also alleged corruption, claiming over $8 million meant for employee benefits was unaccounted for, prompting calls for the Chairperson’s removal. The Commission has yet to confirm the dismissals.
