The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is providing take-home rations to 5,000 pre-primary and primary school children and their household members.

The rations comprising of rice, fortified vegetable oil, and pulses are intended to mitigate the impact of the COVID19 pandemic on the students and their families.

This assistance was made possible thanks to a contribution of 150,000 dollars by the Government of Canada’s Fund for Local Initiative Program to WFP in Liberia.

WFP in a statement said the take-home rations play a vital role of enabling the whole family to receive nutritious food support while encouraging their children’s attendance.
