Liberian President Joseph Boakai has made a landmark decision to end the culture of impunity by signing Executive Order Number 131, establishing the Office of War and Economic Crimes Courts for Liberia.
Since the end of the country’s decade-long civil war in 2003, successive governments have failed to hold accountable those most responsible for the crisis, which resulted in the deaths of more than 250,000 people.
