The Liberia National Police has dismissed one of its senior ranking officers, Chief Inspector of Police, Ithamar Harding, from police code Unit 187, alongside several other junior officers, for absconding with a murder suspect, Peaches Queen Johnson.
In December 2023, the Liberian National Police declared Peaches Queen Johnson and other supporters of the main opposition Unity Party wanted in connection with the alleged severe beating and subsequent death of 35-year-old Joshua Solomon, a supporter of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).
