In a significant move to enhance maritime security, Liberia’s National Fisheries Authority (NaFAA) has handed over the Lone Star patrol vessel to the Ministry of National Defense.
The vessel, now under the Liberia Coast Guard’s control, will focus on curbing illegal fishing and ensuring compliance across the country’s nine coastal counties.
Originally donated by the Welsh Government in 2019, the Lone Star forms part of Liberia’s efforts to tackle unregulated fishing activities in its waters.
