Police investigators have charged seven members of the group calling itself Coalition for Democratic Change Council of Patriots with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder in connection to the violent protest that ensued on July 26.
According to the police charge sheet, the defendants were also charged with aggravated assault, criminal mischief, theft of property, rioting, failure to disperse and disorderly conduct, after they counter protested against a student group who were protesting against the government.
However, Assistant Minister for litigation Wesseh A. Wesseh questioned the bail bond granted by the court to release the defendants.
