In Ghana, there are widespread concerns that the government is planning to interfere with the 2024 general election.
This follows a leaked audio involving a high-ranking police officer and a member of the governing New Patriotic Party, where the two are discussing how to remove the inspector general of police because they fear that he could impede efforts to manipulate the election outcome.
While the audio is yet to be authenticated, the government has denied the allegations of election interference, describing such accusations as baseless.
