Liberian former Vice President Joseph Boakai, is set to be inaugurated today as president, marking the second peaceful democratic transfer of power in the country in over seven decades.
Boakai secured victory with 50.64 percent of the votes in the presidential run-off held on November 14, surpassing outgoing president George Weah, who received 49.36 percent of the ballot.
