Two isolated elements of the Ivorian Defense and Security Forces (FDS), who were on patrol on motorcycles, were the target of an attack on the night of Wednesday 30 to Thursday 31 December.
The soldiers came under fire while they were 4 kilometers from the Koguienou border post, in the department of Doropo, in the north of the country.
The attack took place in an agricultural area. The soldiers patrolled a cashew field on the trails usually used by traffickers who smuggle between Côte d'Ivoire and Burkina Faso.
