The International Criminal Police Organization says an estimated one point three billion CFA Francs or two million euros were frozen and over one hundred arrests were made in a covert operation in the fight against organized crime in West Africa.

Called Operation Jackal, the secret mission mobilized law enforcement agents from 21 countries around the world essentially targeting sophisticated criminals in the subregion.

Several leaders of criminal networks considered a serious threat to global security are among those arrested according to Interpol.
