The Benin Republic says in the fight against terrorism, bilateral cooperation works better than multinational forces.

In July 2022, Cotonou and Niamey concluded a military agreement to better fight against terrorism that is rampant in their countries.
The two presidents clarified that their military cooperation comes before the Accra Initiative, of which they are both members.
