The announcement of results from Tuesday’s Presidential and Legislative elections is still ongoing by the nation’s National Elections Commission.
Now, preliminary results released on Friday have incumbent George Weah for the first time, ahead of the main opposition leader—Joseph Boakai.
Davidetta Browne-Lansana said 1,374 polling centres have reported, placing Weah ahead with 216,344 votes, compared to Boakai’s 207,217 votes.
Meanwhile, in Nimba country, at least two ballot boxes in the Representative category were stolen by unknown men from the Magistrate’s office.
