Alongside the broadcast of testimonies, and interviews with resource persons including victims, government officials and activists in jihadist-plagued states of Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Nigeria, the joint production by WADR and Open Society Foundation OSF (IN THE SAHEL) holds Public Debates in select countries where stakeholders converge with the purpose of brainstorming and stir thought-provoking discussions on the way forward.
During the 2024 edition of the Sahel Public Debate tagged; “Security in the Sahel: Effects, Challenges, Strategies and the Way Forward” in Abuja – Nigeria’s capital, stakeholders in the security and governance space in the country analyzed and recommended strategies to tackle the different security threats.
