A new report by the World Organization Against Torture (OMCT) and the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) has exposed systematic repression of civil society in Mali, Niger, Burkina Faso, and Chad.
Covering January 2020 to September 2024, the report highlights escalating restrictions on freedoms, with 61 documented cases of human rights violations.
The findings point to a coordinated effort by regional authorities to silence dissent and shrink civic space.
