The South Africa-based Institute for Security Studies (ISS) has expressed concern over the foothold that political vigilantism is gaining in Ghana.

Over the past 25 years, Ghana has progressively entrenched democracy while maintaining relative peace and stability.

But ISS said in a publication on Tuesday that the formation of vigilante groups by political parties in Ghana could jeopardize the peace and stability of the country.

Senior Researcher, Sampson Kwarkye, who led the research on political vigilantism in Ghana, spoke to WADR from Abuja, Nigeria.
