Eleven African countries with the highest malaria burden have declared to end deaths from the disease by accelerating campaign.
Health ministers from these countries including Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria and Ghana pledged in Yaounde – The Cameroonian capital to strengthen the fight against the deadly disease.
The UN health agency says Africa accounts for 95 percent of global malaria deaths with the fight against the disease stagnating since 2017 due to factors such as humanitarian crises, difficulties in accessing health services, climate change, and related obstacles.
