Guinea’s trade unions have suspended a nationwide strike that had brought the nation and its mining sector to a standstill since Monday.
The Guinean Trade Union Movement, representing various workers’ unions, announced the suspension in a statement on Wednesday.
This decision comes in the wake of the release of a detained union leader, Sekou Jamal Pendessa, a key demand of the unions.
