The Ministry of Information withdraws broadcast permits from FIM FM radio and several media outlets of the Djoma and Hadafo groups.

The Ministry alleges non-compliance with the specifications by the stated media outlets.

This new measure by the transitional authorities’ further calls into question press freedom in Guinea.

According to the union of Guinean press professionals, SPPG, the Ministry of Communication has exceeded its functions.

During recent meetings with Guinean press employers, Prime Minister Bah Oury announced the restoration of the signal of these private media critical of the authorities in power.

In return, the press owners committed to setting up a self-regulatory body.
