There’s been a surge of responses following the announcement from the new Prime Minister that the transition period will extend until 2025.
In a statement released late on Tuesday night, Guinea’s civic groups assert that this declaration by the head of government confirms the junta’s reluctance to relinquish power to civilian authorities as per the agreed timetable with ECOWAS.
They declare their intention to resist Colonel Doumbouya and his associates’ attempts to seize control.
