The Guinean authorities announced on Tuesday that the country would be suspended from the Organisation for the Development of the Senegal River (OMVS).
According to them, the concerns and strategic interests of Guinea’s participation in the OMVS have not always been taken into account by the organisation since its creation.
They also denounce the delay in financing the Koukoutamba hydroelectric dam. Observers say this decision will further weaken the organisation.
