In Guinea, tensions escalated on Monday as a young man lost his life during a demonstration organized by the coalition of opposition forces, known as the “living forces.” Several individuals sustained injuries, and authorities made approximately 20 arrests, including activists and leaders of opposition political parties.
The government deployed security forces, including the police, gendarmerie, and army, in efforts to restore public order amidst the growing unrest.
Opposition leaders have vowed to sustain the protests, demanding the immediate departure of the ruling junta and the establishment of a civil transition. The ongoing demonstrations signal rising dissatisfaction with the military-led government and heightened calls for democratic governance.
