Opposition political groups in Guinea have expressed strong disapproval over General Mamady Doumouya’s probable candidacy in the next elections.
They are threatening to fight his candidacy, as they did in 2009 against former junta leader Captain Moussa Dadis Camara.
The political actors warn that after December 31, 2024, they will demand the departure of the military President and his cabinet, conduct elections and hand over civilians.
It should be noted, however, that the transitional president has yet to officially comment.
