Guinea’s legal community is expressing growing frustration over the surge in kidnappings targeting socio-political figures critical of the transitional government. Lawyers and human rights advocates are demanding urgent investigations and transparency from authorities.

The latest abduction involved Abdoul Sakho, coordinator of the Forum of Social Forces of Guinea, who was reportedly taken last week under unclear circumstances. His disappearance has intensified concerns over the increasing repression of dissenting voices.

Lawyers argue that these incidents reflect a troubling pattern of intimidation and are calling on the government to take decisive action to locate all missing individuals. They insist that impunity must not prevail in a country striving for democratic transition.

As pressure mounts, the government is yet to respond to the legal community’s demands, leaving many to question the state of justice and human rights in Guinea.
