Former Guinean Prime Minister Bissau – Aristide Gomes is stuck in the premises of the United Nations Integrated Mission in Bissau.
A court decision prevents him from leaving. Since last April, Aristide, who said he feared for his life, has taken refuge in the diplomatic mission.
He is now in the sights of the judiciary, which is investigating his management.
Gomes was head of government in Guinea Bissau between April 2018 and October 2019. He is allegedly involved in several corruption cases.
The authorities have seized his passport and he is forbidden to leave the country.
Journalist Alain Yero Mballo gives us more details on this case.
