Guinea President Alpha Conde will be sworn in today for a third term following controversial elections on October 18.
Conde had changed the constitution in a referendum earlier this year, to allow him to stand for a third term – a move the opposition described at the time, as a constitutional coup d’état.
Conde, 82, first came to power in 2010 and his government has since been accused severely for rights abuses and the frequent banning of public protests against his administration.
