Now Participating in an election in a male dominant society like Liberia, is a difficult task for females engaged in politics; which has resulted in a downward trend of women’s political participation despite producing Africa’s first woman-elected head of state—Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf [2006-2017].

We bring you the tale of a lone female – Marvelene Lepukoi, who contested against 12 male candidates in the recently concluded 2023 elections.

Although she did not win, Lepukoi insists she has a story to tell.
