The International Federation of Women Lawyers (IFWL) has expressed disappointment in the slow pace of work regarding the passage of Ghana’s Affirmative Action Bill.
Efforts have been underway since 2011 to enact an Affirmative Action (Gender Equality) Law in alignment with the 1992 Constitution.
In his maiden State of the Nation Address in 2017, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised to ensure the passage of the Affirmative Action Bill into law.
However, to the dismay of IFWL and other advocates, this promise remains unfulfilled. Acting Executive Director of FIDA, Susan Aryeetey spoke to WADR
