The electricity company of Ghana ECG has retrieved some 830,000 dollars from customers through the revenue protection project launched in August last year.
During this exercise, the company’s officials inspect customers’ homes to determine the legality and propriety of their electrical connections.
The power company uncovered over 1,000 illegalities in the first week of meter auditing in Accra, the Ghanaian capital alone.
As WADR’s Atiewin Mbillah Lawson reports, ECG was recently in the news for deploying their staff to retrieve a debt of about 550 million dollars owed to the company.
