Ghana’s Ministry of National Security has refuted a recent report by international news agency, Reuters that alleged that Islamist militants are using Ghana as a logistical base. According to the Ministry, the claims in the report are both inaccurate and damaging.
The Reuters report, published on October 24, suggested that militants may be taking advantage of Ghana’s northern regions to support insurgent operations across the border, alleging insufficient response from local authorities- a narrative Ghanaian officials are calling “unfounded and misleading.
