In Ghana, the government is calling on civilians to respect security officers to prevent unnecessary confrontations, following the invasion of the Ashaiman community by some soldiers.
The attack was in response to the killing of a young military officer, leading to the brutalization of several residents.
The Defense and Interior Committee of Parliament will visit the community alongside the Ministry of Defense and the Military High Command to assess the situation.
Pressure group ‘Ashaiman Lives Matter’ has called on President Nana Akufo-Addo to set up a committee to probe the brutalities inflicted on civilians during the invasion.
