Fuel prices are to go up by some 30 pesewas in the next pricing window in Ghana.
The second pricing window which is expected to kick off today could see the price selling for as high as 7 cedis 80 pesewas. Already some experts are projecting the cost of the commodity could hit 8 cedis by the first quarter of the year.
The institute of energy security wants the government to explore strategic fuel stocking and the management of forex and international price risks to arrest incessant fuel price hikes in fuel price in the long term.
According to its Executive Director, Nana Amoasi IV, a suspension or removal of the taxes and levies to the price build up will only provide a short term measure for local fuel price fluctuations.
