Ghana’s Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has criticized US Vice President Kamala Harris for her comments on Ghana’s stance on LGBTQ+ issues.
Harris restated her position on human rights violations against minorities during a recent meeting, stating that her stance remains unchanged.
Bagbin in response argued that Ghana will not be influenced on matters related to LGBTQ+ rights emphasizing that, President Akufo-Addo cannot influence Parliament on the subject.
The Speaker’s comments come amidst ongoing discussions and debates around LGBTQ+ rights in Ghana, and highlight the country’s commitment to upholding its own cultural and societal values.
