The Ghana Police have initiated a search for individuals connected to a violent disturbance that disrupted the ongoing District Assembly Elections in the Senya Electoral Area in the capital Accra.

Reports indicate that the suspects were involved in actions leading to the damage of electoral materials and causing injury to an individual. Swift intervention by a Police reinforcement team successfully restored order amid the chaos.

the Electoral Commission was compelled to suspend the elections in the affected area. The national police have affirmed its commitment to taking measures to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.

In the midst of these developments, the opposition NDC has voiced criticism against the Electoral Commission, citing what they perceive as a subpar performance, citing numerous election postponements in various areas due to a range of challenges.
