A security analyst has described as detrimental to the country’s fight against the proliferation of small arms, after a United States Army Major, Kojo Owusu Dartey, was found guilty by a federal jury on multiple charges related to smuggling of firearms.
The weapons were shipped to Ghana concealed within blue barrels of rice and household goods.
Dr. Adam Bonaa is making a case for Ghana’s Small Arms Commission to be elevated to an authority for it to deal with such issues.
