A coalition of governments, including Ghana, Moldova, Sweden, Denmark, Estonia, and France, has expressed their support for the International Fund for Public Interest Media (IFPIM).
In a ceremony at the Paris Peace Forum, they approved the Statutes that protect IFPIM’s mission and independence. Additionally, they formally appointed the Board of Independent Experts.
As Sankulleh Janko reports, Representatives cited the urgency of IFPIM’s mission to tackle the structural challenges faced by independent journalism in low- and middle-income countries, aiming to pave the way for long-term financial resilience.
