The Ghana Journalists Association has condemned the arrest of the Managing Editor of the Ghanaian Digital Newspaper, Whatsapp news and Vice–President of the Private Newspapers Publishers Association of Ghana David Tamakloe.
Tamakloe was arrested by the police on 7 October after the New Edubaise District Court issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
It followed the publication of a story on Whatsup News in July which reported “alleged ethnic profiling of Ewes and Northerners in New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region.
In condemning the arrest, the Ghana Journalists Association described the arrest and detention of Tamakloe as a deliberate act of intimidation and harassment.
