The Office of the President has appointed Dr. Eric Nkansah as the new Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Upon the advice of the Governing Council of the GES and the Public Services Commission, Dr. Eric’s appointment which is an acting one will take immediate effect.
From the Presidency, Dr. Eric Nkansah is expected to indicate his acceptance for the role within 14 days,
Recall, this appointment comes just a day after Prof. Kwasi Opoku-Amankwa was shown the exit because his services were no longer needed at the GES.
However, The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) for instance has disagreed with his dismissal, describing it as an unfortunate decision.
According to them. the development is not only surprising but also has left members of the association with shocks.
NAGRAT, therefore, calls on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to rescind his decision.
