The Minority caucus in Ghana’s Parliament has declared the chairperson of the electoral commission Jean Mensa persona non-grata. This comes after the commission chair snubbed the legislators who marched to the office headquarters demanding the open collation of the Techiman South parliamentary results.

Already there exist heightened tensions between members of the two leading political parties compounded by daily demonstrations against the electoral commission’s declaration of result in favour of President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Despite allegations of electoral fraud and rigging, the electoral commission says it will take a break for the Christmas festivities from today to January 19, 2021.
