Cybercriminals hacked Ghanaian President John Mahama’s official X account for 48 hours, using it to promote a fake cryptocurrency scam.
The hackers falsely claimed Mahama was backing “Solana Africa,” a fictitious crypto project supposedly designed to facilitate payments across Africa.
Ghana’s presidential spokesperson confirmed the breach on Tuesday, stating that security measures had been taken to restore the account.
Authorities warn the public to ignore fraudulent investment messages linked to the president, as crypto scams continue to rise across Africa.
