The Alliance of Feminist Civil Society Organizations (AFCSOs) in Ghana is currently advocating for the resignation of Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa, the Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority (VRA).

This call comes in response to his oversight of the recent spillage of the Akosombo Dam, which has resulted in the displacement of numerous residents.

As James Adjapong reports, The VRA initiated the controlled water release from both the Akosombo and Kpong Dams on September 15, 2023, in light of a consistent surge in the inflow pattern and water level of the Akosombo reservoir.
